It’s that time of year again. The leaves are just starting to turn brown and the days are starting to get a little shorter. It’s time for the kids to get back to school! Before the new school year starts, you need to make sure that your kids are fully prepared for the start of the year. Here are four easy tips that will make sure your kids get off to a good start. Establish a Sleep Routine – During the summer, your kids probably stay up much later than you’d like them to. You’ll need to set-up a routine to get them back into the swing of things for school. Starting a week or two before the school year starts, have your kids go to bed earlier and wake up earlier so that they can get used to the schedule again! Schedule A Doctor’s Appointment – This is an important thing to do to make sure your child is completely healthy, has no allergies and has all of their vaccinations up-to-date before they encounter other kids. With so many kids at school, it’s hard to know if a kid is sick or not so it’s better to be safe than sorry! Get An Eye Exam – If your child can’t see the board or read their textbooks, they are going to have a hard time getting the most from their education. Make sure your child’s vision is checked by a pediatrician or by a separate eye doctor and if they need glasses, make sure they have them as soon as possible. Get A Good Backpack – If your child has to carry a lot of notebooks and books to school with them, you know how important it is to get a good backpack. It will save your child from having back and muscle problems throughout the year. If the school allows them, a rolling backpack might also be a good option. Getting the school year off to a good start is extremely important. By following some of these tips, you can help ensure that your child gets the year off to a great start and that they get a great education this year! Credit: Keloland
